Factory Excursion – Visit by Calcutta Boys’ School
About the Event
EMA India welcomed the students and faculty members of Calcutta Boys’ School for an educational factory excursion on 12th April 2025. The visit was organized to provide students with practical exposure to the world of handmade craftsmanship, sustainable production, and responsible business practices.
During the excursion, students explored various production units where skilled artisans demonstrated the techniques involved in creating handcrafted products. They gained valuable insights into the dedication, precision, and creativity required to transform raw materials into high-quality Fair Trade products.
The visit also introduced students to the principles of Fair Trade, highlighting the importance of ethical sourcing, sustainable livelihoods, and community empowerment. Through interactive sessions, they learned how traditional craftsmanship supports artisans, preserves cultural heritage, and contributes to inclusive economic development.
